Turbans, bandanas, headscarves… a thousand and one ways to wear a scarf on your head!
The turban, the bandana, in short, the head scarf is back in fashion. The turban is a headdress of Oriental origin, it was very fashionable in the thirties and fifties (Greta Garbo, Rita Hayworth, Grace Kelly etc). But today it’s been taken on by the great designers (Dolce & Gabbana, Stella Jean ..), not counting streetstyle, where the fashion to tie a head scarf is back in fashion. I’m so happy it’s back! And it’s useful especially in the summer to cover your head from the sun, to keep your hair in order on the beach, and to complete a look. But how do you wear the head scarf? Here are some ideas:
Turbans, bandanas, headscarves… instructions!
1. 1. How do you wear it? The turban. So, the version knotted scarf turban is certainly the most popular. If you are not brilliant with the nodes or the tutorials that are on youtube are not for you (here a few years ago I wrote a tutorial on how to tie a turban), today turbans are already knotted and fit as if they were headphones (SEE ON ASOS).
2. How do you wear part two? All other versions: the turban is not the only option, you can indulge! In the gallery you see today you will find a thousand and one different ways to tie a head scarf in different creative ways. The classic bandana knotted at the base of the neck, knotted in the American style with the bow on top of the head. Or even with mega bow like Cara Delevingne, or woven into the braid as seen at Hermes .
3. What about hair? The version I like best is that of the turban paired with loose hair. The bandana with American knots or classic knots looks great when teamed with a fringe and in any case is perfect with short hair or with a messy crop. Cool!
