How to maintain your tan.
We’re back from the sea, and for many of us vacation is over, safe for a few sporadic days at the sea in September to enjoy a few last beautiful sunny days. All in all, we were good this year, we admit it: our tans are perfect! If you’ve seen my video in which I share all the secrets to getting a perfect tan, you already know what I’m talking about!
But now that September has rolled around, the moment to begin working on maintaining your tan for as long as possible has arrived.
It has been proven that if it isn’t cared for properly, a tan fades away within 3 weeks. Let’s get to it straight away: here are a few secrets to get started on RIGHT AWAY!!
How to maintain your tan for as long as possible: here are the tricks!
–
Watch what you eat.
As I told you in my video dedicated to tanning, the same precautions you take before exposing yourself out in the sun should be considered after exposing oneself in the sun as well. Drink lots of water, eat foods rich in vitamins such as fruits and vegetables, and in particular foods that are rich in betacarotene and omega 3 (like salmon!).
Avoid saunas, hot showers or baths.
High temperatures accelerate the skin peeling process: try to take showers and baths with warm water instead of with hot water, and avoid saunas and steam rooms. While you’re at it, beware of strong air conditioning: it dries out the skin!
Holiday Beauty Essentials. Hello beautiful ones!! I know that your holidays are fast approaching :) I also can’t wait to head off and enjoy my summer holidays! So amongst my posts I decided to offer you this summer for your holidays, today’s is one of my favourites: we’re talking about beauty products for your holidays!(If you missed, it here is my post on liquids for your hand luggage and what to bring!)
Holiday Beauty Essentials: are you sure you’ve packed everything? Here’s the ultimate list!

What to pack in your wash bag for the holidays? (Especially if your holidays are at the beach). I have prepared for you a list of products that you absolutely MUST pack in your washbag. Ready?
Suncream for your face: suncream for your face should be, preferably, different from that for your body. This is because your face and body have different requirements and your face needs a more specific protection, especially regarding the aging of the skin. If you go on holiday in places where the sun is very strong or you’re going to be in the sun a lot, I recommend a high factor SPF with a light consistency so as not to block pores and running the risk of a break out if, like me, you are have combination skin. Do not be afraid to be less tanned on your face than on your body. We’ll talk about that later…
Suncream for your body: choose a suitable protection factor for your skin. Also because if your skin burns easily in certain areas automatically you’ll need a higher factor for those bits. I recommend the new formulations that contain little shimmering particles that make your skin shine in the sun, making it more golden, shimmering and soft, so that small imperfections appear less obvious :)
Protect your hair from the sun. Summer… don’t we just love it? It makes us happy, gives us beautiful weather, amazing nature, and relaxing holidays. But unfortunately, it also has some downsides: most of all, for our hair. The combination of sea and sun dries out our hair, makes it knotty, fades our colour or tints it yellow, so that in September we have to give it a serious chop. But in fact, you can repair it yourself: you just need to use the right products… and don’t forget to use them! :)
Protect your hair from the sun: I’m not talking about suncreams… but treatments you can do at home!

Here are the best products for protecting your hair from the sun in summer:
– Hydrating oil to put on wet hair after showering
Hydrating oil brings back moisture to dry hair that has been ruined by too much sun and salt water: basically this oil reverses the negative effects that we don’t want! Apply it to towel-dried hair after showering before going to bed as a form of mask. In the morning your hair will be super soft!
Travel size: mini beauty essentials for your suitcase! Shopping at Sephora!!
Travel size. It’s all the fault of recent airport policy reforms that I have a big new obsession. Travel size cosmetics, which are make up, lotions and potions in mini version.. they hardly weigh anything, they save loads of packing space, plus adorable packaging! Travel size beauty products are very chic for travelling, even if you’re not travelling by plane and thus don’t necessarily need to take your cosmetics in your hand luggage. Mini sizes allow you to take more products with you that take up the same amount of space as fewer regular sized products. The perfect way to transport our beauty routine and make sure we don’t forget anything!

TONY MOLY SO COOL EYE STICK: A sweet little panda that contains a stick for your eyes and under-eye circles… perfect for long journeys in the car or on a plane. Or after a late night dancing on holiday! (P.S. For a perfect, anti-puff effect, put the stick in the fridge over night!)
FACE CC CREAM SPF 20: a little travel size tube that contains a CC cream with SPF 20 which makes your skin glow and also protects from the sun.
LANCOME GRANDIOSE LINER BRUN MIRIFIQUE: the little eyeliner that is one of the latest releases from the Lancôme house. To make application easier the product is equipped with a pin that allows the applicator to bend to make it easier to apply. A must-try (especially for those of you, like me, who do not have a steady hand!)
Dehydrated skin? Here’s why, the remedies to fix it FAST and the Galénic products that I tried!
Dehydrated skin. Is your face in need of more hydration? Do you have tight, dry skin? This is a very common problem, especially during winter, for me included, especially since my skin also breaks out in spots….
WHY IS MY SKIN DEHYDRATED?
Skin dehydration has been well documented recently: our body is made up of 60% water, which decreases with age, to around 50%. Children, on the other hand, are about 80% water… and that explains why they have such soft skin! We are constantly losing water from our body: not just over time but also due to variations in temperature and air conditioning. So during summer our skin can get very dehydrated and ruin our beautiful looks! Argh!!
WHAT SHOULD BE OUR AIM?
We should be aware that we lose water with age, and so our skin’s beauty is physiological. But you can slow down the process by keeping your levels of hydration up. Also you should protect your skin from all external factors that could accelerate the loss of water (above all the famous ups and downs of temperature and air conditioning…). Basically, your skin should be constantly hydrated (never forget to take care of your facial skin!).
